What a great adventure we had going to Montezuma's Castle and Montezuma's Well on our field trip. We had a record breaking seven chaperones between the two fourth grade classes. We also had Ms. Stockton accompany us on this trip. She made sure she entertained us with the crate on her head incident. One of the chaperones was particularly funny. Maybe next time we should give him a microphone for the comedy show he provided to the back of the bus.
The students saw many of the plants we have talked about including prickly pear cactus, salt bush and creosote bushes. We also saw a mole digging its home, and hawks being predators. We witnessed bees buzzing around a honeycomb. There were many amazing plant and animal sites that blended well with the historical significance of the cliff dwellings. The students were amazed with the site of the Well and how the Ancient Peoples actually survived in these beautiful surroundings.
A fun and educational time was experienced by everyone who had the pleasure to see the sights and sounds of this historical monument.
